Several weeks ago, we lost a beloved longtime volunteer. Tom Foley was an avid kayaker and photographer who cared deeply for the Pacific Northwest and gave his time to Soundkeeper in a multitude of ways.
More importantly, he brought a kind and enthusiastic presence to every event and boat patrol and became a dear friend to many on the Soundkeeper staff.
Tom served as a role model to younger volunteers, participated in the Mussel Watch program, and had a particular love for “trophy trash” items found on cleanup missions. He will be dearly missed.
Tom’s family is honoring his life at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 6th at the Alki Beach Bathhouse. Those who knew Tom are welcome to attend. His full obituary is at the Seattle Times.
