Want to do more for your community? Puget Soundkeeper’s Ambassador Program is an opportunity to build skills, gain access to resources, and connect with clean water advocates, all year round.

This is a year-long commitment with monthly opportunities to learn and volunteer. Ambassadors are asked to attend at least 6 of these opportunities per year!  Ambassadors are eligible for volunteer service hours.

Soundkeeper launched a new Ambassador Program in 2022 designed to provide training, resources, and volunteer opportunities for activists who want to do more to protect clean water throughout Puget Sound.

As a Puget Soundkeeper Ambassador you will:

  • Learn how to spot, report, and stop pollution with tools like the Water Reporter app and more;
  • Practice pollution reporting skills out on the water;
  • Host beach cleanups;
  • Represent Puget Soundkeeper at events;
  • Learn how to communicate persuasively with local and state elected officials;
  • Provide public testimony, support volunteers, and advance Washington Waterkeepers’ policy goals during Lobby Days;
  • Contribute to community science research;
  • Patrol local waterways on kayak and boat;
  • Build leadership and public speaking skills while meeting new friends and building community.

Upcoming Ambassador events:

Advocacy 101: Join Puget Soundkeeper staff for a series of advocacy workshops that will equip you with tools to understand plastics policy, teach you to maximize the impact of public testimony, and empower you to make change for clean water. Participants

I’m fortunate to have been born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Now, as a PSK ambassador, I’m able to give back through my work as an Ambassador and advocate for a healthy Puget Sound.
