Join Puget Soundkeeper for a Lake Union Kayak Patrol! During the patrol, you will help us monitor marine pollution and remove debris from our waterways.
Volunteers do not need any prior kayaking experience and will be provided with all necessary equipment (kayaks, paddles, lifejackets, etc). However, participants should expect to get a little wet and plan to dress for the weather.
On March 16th, we will meet at the Northwest Outdoor Center on Lake Union at 11 am. Upon arrival, volunteers will receive a safety overview, including COVID-19 protocols. Volunteers and Puget Soundkeeper staff will then paddle to a designated area of Lake Union to monitor water pollution and remove trash. We will end the patrol by 1 pm. Kayaks are generously provided free of charge by the Northwest Outdoor Center.
To register, please email Jessica@pugetsoundkeeper.org or call (206) 297-7002 x108. We are only allowing 8 volunteers on our kayak patrols. Since space is limited, please only sign up for 1-2 kayak patrols a month.
Please note, volunteers must show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 and wear masks when gathered. We ask that you do not attend the event if you have any COVID-19 symptoms or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19. Please email Gillian@pugetsoundkeeper.org if you have any questions about this.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding during this time. Contact Jessica at Jessica@pugetsoundkeeper.org or call (206) 297-7002 x108 if you have further questions.
