Please join us this month at Cascade Coffee Works for an evening focused on learning about various types of aquatic debris. Nir Barnea from NOAA’s Marine Debris program will kick off the evening with talking about the issue of macro-debris in our waterways and what the federal response is. Next we will hear from Lyda Harris at UW, who will talk about micro-debris in our waterways and organisms. Next, Connie Sullivan from Puget Soundkeeper will show results from some of their community-science programs. We will end the evening hearing about meaningful individual actions you can take to reduce your impact! Arrive around 4:30 to get a good seat and get some good food and drinks; event starts right at 5pm. The event is family friendly, and there are coloring activities for kids.
