Pint-Sized Science: Ballard Coffee Works

March 20, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Pint-Sized Science: A Closer Look at Puget Sound

Please join us this month at Ballard Coffee Works for a family-friendly evening focused on learning about some of the restoration work being done in Puget Sound. Restoration work leads to improved water quality, which leads to recovery of species around the Sound. The evening will kick off with a presentation from Nelson Salisbury at EarthCorps on the science behind restoration and water quality improvements. From there, audience members will hear from a variety of environmental organizations to learn how they can be involved in recovering Puget Sound. Actions can include anything from going outside and planting trees, kayaking (for free!) to clean up shorelines, and planting rain gardens.

Speakers:
Nelson Salisbury, EarthCorps
Kristen McCune and Nikki Wolf, King Conservation District
Cari Simpson and Andrew Schiffer, DIRT Corps
Connie Sullivan, Puget Soundkeeper
