Pint-Sized Science: The Waterfront

August 22, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Pint-Sized Science: A Closer Look at Puget Sound

Please join us this month at Friends of Waterfront Seattle for an evening focused on learning about the city’s waterfront overhaul and how a restored urban shoreline can help restore critical species such as salmon. First we will learn about the connections between the terrestrial environment and healthier waterways. Next we will hear from scientists working on the waterfront restoration project about the specifics of the project. Then we will learn about what’s already been going on in Seattle to help it be a cleaner waterfront city. We will end the evening hearing about meaningful individual actions you can take to reduce your impact! This is an all ages event. Beer will be available for purchase from Lucky Envelope Brewing; ice cream from Snoqualmie Valley Ice Cream and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided free of charge. Doors open at 5:30; event starts at 6:00pm.

Speakers:
Zak Bartholomew, EarthCorps
Kerry Accola, University of Washington
Connie Sullivan, Puget Soundkeeper
