A community member reported large amounts of Styrofoam washed up on the Saltwater State Park waterfront. The Styrofoam broke up from a dock and is continuing to break up into smaller and smaller pieces. Unfortunately, Styrofoam is made from polystyrene, a petroleum-based plastic, which poses serious risks to wildlife through ingestion and toxin accumulation. This is where we need your help!
Join us on Saturday, December 14th from 11am-1pm to clean up the beach from this Styrofoam and other harmful pieces of marine debris. PLEASE NOTE: Some areas to reach the Styrofoam and other pieces of trash are rather tricky due to the rocks. To cross over into the other section of the beach we will have to climb over them. Please register below! Feel free to email Kristin at email@example.com with any questions or concerns.
