DESCRIPTION:Duwamish Alive! is an annual community cleanup event at Herring House Park/He’apus Village Park in West Seattle. \nWe’re partnering with River Access Paddle Program to offer two kayak cleanup shifts\, each with 20 spots available. Sign up for a kayak spot to paddle on the Duwamish River\, participate in the cleanup\, and learn about the river’s history\, marine habitat\, and ecological and cultural importance. \nTwo kayak shifts will be offered with 20 spots each: \n\nShift #1: 10:30 am – 12:00 pm. No spots are available at this time.\nShift #2: 12:30 -2:00 pm. There are spots available. Register here. If you want to bring a guest\, please have them register separately.\n\nAll supplies and snacks will be provided. More information as to what to expect will be sent a 2-3 days in advance of the event! DESCRIPTION:Duwamish Alive! is an annual community cleanup event at Herring House Park/He’apus Village Park in West Seattle. \nWe’re partnering with River Access Paddle Program to offer two kayak cleanup shifts\, each with 20 spots available. Sign up for a kayak spot to paddle on the Duwamish River\, participate in the cleanup\, and learn about the river’s history\, marine habitat\, and ecological and cultural importance. \nTwo kayak shifts will be offered with 20 spots each: \n\nShift #1: 11:30 am – 1:30 pm. SUMMARY:Aden's International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Event
DESCRIPTION:Join Aden’s annual International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) at Marina Beach Park in Edmonds. \nEvery year\, over 8 million tons of plastic enter the world’s oceans—equivalent to one garbage truck every minute. In Puget Sound alone\, volunteers have removed thousands of pounds of debris\, including plastics and hazardous materials like creosote-treated wood and tires\, from our shorelines. \nThis October\, Aden Han (5th grader at Evergreen School in Shoreline) is partnering with Puget Soundkeeper to host an International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) at Marina Beach Park in Edmonds. Together\, we’ll remove litter\, collect valuable data\, and contribute to policies that protect our environment and communities from pollution. This family-friendly event welcomes volunteers of all ages—kids included! \nThis cleanup is led by a Puget Soundkeeper volunteer – if you’re able to attend their cleanup\, please do so! SUMMARY:Upper Duwamish River Boat Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Under our Summer Cleanup Series and Salmon and Legacy Debris (SLD) Project\, Puget Soundkeeper is hosting a final Upper Duwamish River Boat Cleanup in July in Tukwila\, WA. In partnership with the River Access Paddle Program\, we are hoping to provide up to 10 double kayaks (for 20 participants)\, as well as provide cleanup supplies\, water\, snacks and help get folks back to their cars at the end of the cleanup. We will also welcome folks who can bring their own boat to the river (a kayak\, canoe\, or raft works best). We will need an additional 10-12 people who can help out on land at our base camps (at the put-in and take-out locations). Youth must be 15 years or older to participate and accompanied by a parent or guardian. \nNote: All kayak shift spots have been filled\, however\, if you’re still interested in joining us\, you can do so for a land-based cleanup at Codiga Park. SUMMARY:Coastal Cleanup at Ocean City State Park [July 9]
DESCRIPTION:Join Puget Soundkeeper and Twin Harbors Waterkeeper for an exciting cleanup on July 9th from 10 am-2 pm along Ocean City State Park’s shoreline! Friends and family are welcome to join us for the cleanup.  \nParticipants are also welcome to stay overnight and camp with us but will need to organize their own accommodation. Supplies will be provided\, but a Discover pass is required to enter the state park.  \nWe will be collecting trash big and small and will be conducting our first nurdle patrol. Nurdles are small plastic pellets that are typically used to make larger plastic products\, but they can easily enter the ocean and wash up on beaches.  \nHelp us clean up the Puget Sound and make it a healthier place for all life forms by registering here! \nNOTE: This event was initially happening at Griffiths-Priday State park\, but we recently moved the event to Ocean City State Park to avoid disrupting the Greater-Sand Plover nesting season at Griffiths-Priday State Park. SUMMARY:Upper Duwamish River BYOB Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Under our Salmon and Legacy Debris Project\, Puget Soundkeeper is hosting a “Bring Your Own Boat” (BYOB) Cleanup of the Upper Duwamish River. We will float a 4+ mile section of the upper Duwamish River in Tukwila that most people never get to see. If you are interested in joining us for this weekday boat cleanup and have your own boat that you can bring to the river (a kayak\, canoe\, or small raft works best)\, Puget Soundkeeper will provide cleanup supplies and help you get back to your car at the end of the cleanup. We have 10 youth participating and are limited this cleanup to 10 additional people (youth must come with a parent or guardian).  We are creating a list of folks that are interested here!
