SUMMARY:Partner International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Cleanups
DESCRIPTION:Puget Soundkeeper is the regional coordinator for International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) events happening across the Puget Sound! Every year\, we work with partner organizations and residents across the Puget Sound to organize cleanups from August through December. The cleanups listed below are being run by our community partners\, and are open to volunteers!  \nWhat distinguishes an ICC cleanup from a regular beach cleanup is the collection of data using physical data sheets or the Clean Swell app. By collecting data about the types of debris we find\, we’re helping build a global database that helps inform and produce legislation that protects the environment and communities from the negative impacts of water pollution. \nTo join an ICC cleanup through one of our partner organizations\, please see below: \n\nSustainable Bainbridge\n\nSaturday\, Sept 20: 9 am – 12 pm\nLocation: Bainbridge Island – multiple locations\nRSVP here.\n\n\nRE-Sources [Bellingham]\n\nSunday\, Sept 21 : 11 am – 1 pm\nLocation: Cherry Point Aquatic Reserve: 4601 Gulf Road\, Ferndale\nRSVP here.\n\n\nEnvironmental Science Center (ESC) & Sealife Response\, Rehabilitation\, and Research (SR3)\n\nSaturday\, Sept 20: 10 am – 12 pm\nLocation: Seahurst Park – 2220 SW Seahurst Park Rd\, Burien\, WA 98166\, USA\nRSVP here.\n\n\nMore details to come!\n\n

SUMMARY:International Coastal Cleanup [September 20]
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our annual International Coastal Cleanup (ICC)! Volunteers will remove debris and litter along the shoreline and in the surrounding streets. Volunteers will also be collecting data\, which will help inform long term solutions for plastic-free oceans and waterways.  If you’d like to participate in the data collection process using your phone\, please download our Clean Swell app before the cleanup to keep track of the trash you collect. \nWe recommend that all volunteers wear close-toed shoes and weather-appropriate gear. Volunteers should also bring their own reusable water bottles.  Snacks and supplies will be provided. \nThere will be two separate cleanups occurring at the same time: one at Alki Beach and one at Myrtle Edwards Park. Both cleanups will be from 10 am – 12 pm\, and you can register for the location that works best for you. \nMeeting Location for Alki Beach Bathouse: 2701 Alki Ave SW\, Seattle\, WA 98116. SUMMARY:Aden's International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Event
DESCRIPTION:Join Aden’s annual International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) at Marina Beach Park in Edmonds. \nEvery year\, over 8 million tons of plastic enter the world’s oceans—equivalent to one garbage truck every minute. In Puget Sound alone\, volunteers have removed thousands of pounds of debris\, including plastics and hazardous materials like creosote-treated wood and tires\, from our shorelines. \nThis October\, Aden Han (5th grader at Evergreen School in Shoreline) is partnering with Puget Soundkeeper to host an International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) at Marina Beach Park in Edmonds. Together\, we’ll remove litter\, collect valuable data\, and contribute to policies that protect our environment and communities from pollution. This family-friendly event welcomes volunteers of all ages—kids included! \nThis cleanup is led by a Puget Soundkeeper volunteer – if you’re able to attend their cleanup\, please do so! You can register here.  \nMeeting Location: Marina Beach Park. 470 Admiral Way\, Edmonds WA 98020. Picnic area on the grassy lawn by the dock at the beach entrance on Admiral Way.
