DESCRIPTION:Join Puget Soundkeeper for our annual 5th of July cleanup on and around Lake Union! Volunteers will help remove firework debris and other litter generated from 4th of July festivities. \nVolunteers can participate at the following locations below: \nWallingford Steps (Walking Cleanup): 10 AM – 12 PM. SUMMARY:Kayak Cleanup - Lake Union
DESCRIPTION:Join Puget Soundkeeper for a Lake Union Kayak Cleanup from 12-2 PM! Volunteers do not need any prior kayaking experience and will be provided with all necessary equipment. Volunteers younger than 18 years can participate\, as long as they’re with a guardian in the same boat. \nThe 12 spots for this event are currently filled. Please email Ewan Henderson (ewanh@pugetsoundkeeper.org) to be added to the waitlist.  Hope to sea you there! \n**Kayak cleanups are weather dependent\, and can be cancelled on the day of if there are high winds. Puget Soundkeeper staff will notify you no later than 9 AM the morning of incase bad weather persists.** \n** For equity purposes\, we request that individuals register for a maximum of 3 cleanups from March-September. Since our kayak cleanups are highly sought after\, we would like to give as many volunteers the opportunity to be on the water with us.**

SUMMARY:Upper Duwamish River Boat Cleanup [ July 12]
DESCRIPTION:Under our Summer Cleanup Series and Salmon and Legacy Debris Project\, Puget Soundkeeper is hosting the final Upper Duwamish River Boat Cleanup for the summer in Tukwila\, WA. In partnership with the River Access Paddle Program\, we are hoping to provide up to 10 double kayaks (for 20 participants)\, as well as provide cleanup supplies\, water\, snacks and help get folks back to their cars at the end of the cleanup. \nWe will also welcome folks who can bring their own boat to the river (a kayak\, canoe\, or raft works best). We will need an additional 10-12 people who can help out on land at our base camps (at the put-in and take-out locations). Youth must be 15 years or older to participate and accompanied by a parent or guardian. \nIf you have a flatbed truck that you don’t mind getting a little dirty\, we could use 1-2 trucks to haul debris from a drop off site half-way down the river.
