Sound Sweep Series: Puget Soundkeeper Cleanups

September 12 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us for our annual Sound Sweep Series/International Coastal Cleanup event (ICC)! This event is one of thousands around the world, mobilizing millions of volunteers annually to take part in removing marine debris from our local ecosystems and shared spaces.

Volunteers will help collect data, which will help inform long term solutions for plastic-free oceans and waterways. If you’d like to participate in the data collection process using your phone, please download our Clean Swell app before the cleanup to keep track of the trash you collect.

There will be two separate cleanups occurring at the same time: one at Alki Beach and one at Myrtle Edwards Park. Both cleanups will be from 10 am – 12 pm, and you can register for the location that works best for you.

Meeting Location for Alki Beach Bathhouse: 2701 Alki Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98116. Register here. Coordinates: 47.57986082852401, -122.40968078967546. The red arrows mark where our tent will be setup.

Meeting Location for Myrtle Edwards Park: 3130 ALASKAN Way, Seattle, WA 98121. The address will take you to the south section of the trail, but please meet us near the following coordinates: 47.61970739237475, -122.36188688472124.  Register here.

The red arrows mark where our tent will be setup. We recommend parking in the Interbay/Lower Queen Anne neighborhood close to the Queen Anne Beerhall and taking the flyover walking bridge (located at the intersection of W Thomas St and Western Ave W). It is paid parking so do make sure to register your car.

If you would like to lead your own cleanup at a site of your choice, consider becoming a beach captain for the Sound Sweeps/ICC Program. Check HERE for more details!
